What Our Name Means

MANUKHTA MEANS HUMANITY. SEWA MEANS SELFLESS SERVICE.

Together, Manukhta Di Sewa represents a simple belief: serving humanity is among the greatest forms of service.

We believe compassion should extend beyond borders, backgrounds and beliefs. When people are hungry, sick, without shelter, affected by disaster, or facing circumstances they cannot overcome alone, what matters first is that they are human.

Manukhta Di Sewa USA was established to create a trusted way for people in the United States to support meaningful humanitarian work. Our journey was inspired by witnessing extraordinary acts of selfless service in India, but our mission reaches much further.

We support charitable initiatives and organizations in the United States, India, and other parts of the world where genuine humanitarian needs exist.

We believe charitable resources should reach people who need them most - regardless of country, background, religion, or circumstance.

Where Our Journey Began

Manukhta Di Sewa USA was founded in 2025 after witnessing extraordinary humanitarian work being carried out by Manukhta Di Sewa in India.

We saw people caring for individuals who had been abandoned, providing shelter to those with nowhere to go, helping people receive medical treatment, supporting children and families, and restoring dignity to people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

We also saw something else: the need was greater than the resources available.

At the same time, we knew there were people in the United States who wanted to help and who shared the belief that another person's suffering should never be ignored simply because it is happening far away.

OUR INSPIRATION MAY HAVE STARTED WITH INDIA. OUR RESPONSIBILITY IS TO HUMANITY.

INDEPENDENT. GLOBAL. HUMANITARIAN.

Manukhta Di Sewa USA is an independent U.S. nonprofit organization. We are separately organized and governed in the United States and are not a branch of Manukhta Di Sewa India.

We may support charitable projects carried out by Manukhta Di Sewa India when those projects further our charitable mission and are approved by our organization. We may also support other charitable organizations, humanitarian initiatives and communities in the United States, India and other parts of the world.

NO SINGLE ORGANIZATION, COUNTRY OR COMMUNITY DEFINES THE LIMITS OF OUR MISSION.

Humanitarian work isn't simply measured in dollars, meals or numbers. Sometimes it means helping someone receive medical treatment when they have nowhere else to turn. Sometimes it means giving an abandoned person a safe place to sleep. Sometimes it means helping a child receive an education. And sometimes it simply means reminding another human being:

Manukhta Di Sewa India's humanitarian work played an important role in inspiring the creation of Manukhta Di Sewa USA. Its programs include rescue and rehabilitation, shelter, medical treatment, medical camps, educational assistance and other services for vulnerable people.

As an independent U.S. nonprofit, we may support qualifying humanitarian projects carried out by this organization while also supporting charitable needs elsewhere.
